Daewoo Engineering & Construction Co. is promoting the sale of “Yongsan Summit Square,” a shopping mall in Yongsan, central Seoul, company officials said Sunday.

The officials said the mall in front of Yongsan Station was part of the high-rise residential complex “Yongsan Prugio Summit” that the company has constructed.

The three-story mall includes 139 shops and is expected to draw high demand given that it is situated near AmorePacific, LG Uplus and some other major companies, according to Daewoo E&C.

It added that more and more people would gather in the Yongsan Station area as a huge duty-free shop jointly run by Hyundai Development Co. and Hotel Shilla and other major commercial facilities was scheduled to be built there.

“We expect that the Yongsan Summit Square area will be a popular foreign tourist spot as a hallyu (Korean wave) performance hall that will accommodate about 2,000 spectators is planned to be constructed nearby,” said an official.
