[Asian Games] Park Min-soo gets bronze in men's pommel horse

Sept. 24, 2014 - 21:32 By 송상호
South Korean gymnast Park Min-soo won the bronze medal in the men's pommel horse at the Asian Games on Wednesday.

Park scored 14.700 points on the apparatus, behind his Japanese rival Masayoshi Yamamoto, who won gold with 15.033 points, and Uzbeki Abdulla Azimov, who took silver with 14.866 points.

The bronze makes up for Park's disappointing all-around on Tuesday, where he'd finished 10th due to his poorer-than-expected performance on the high bar. The 19-year-old had been largely considered the gold medal hopeful in the discipline for the host nation.

Meanwhile, South Korean vault extraordinaire Yang Hak-seon failed to medal in the men's floor exercise with a back-of-the-pack score of 14.100 points. His North Korean rival Ri Se-gwang wasn't

that much better with 14.533 points. The Chinese Zou Kai and Huang Yuguo dominated the race, executing the most difficult moves with precision. (Yonhap)
