Cheil Industries’ viral video to advertise its theme park Everland hit 800,000 views on YouTube a day after its release.

The 90-second-long clip featuring a father and a teenage daughter was posted on the firm’s Facebook page and YouTube on Tuesday, raking in more than 300,000 viewers in less than 12 hours.

The viral video starts off showing the father saddened by his adolescent daughter who constantly avoids conversation.

With mixed emotions about his little girl growing up, he stares at a photo of them together at the theme park when his daughter was a young girl. In his memory, his daughter was always smiling and tagging along behind him, shouting out, “Daddy, daddy!”

Hoping to reconnect with the teenage daughter, the man takes her to Everland again, and she slowly begins to open up. The clip ends with the daughter calling him “daddy” again, smiling.

The video is garnering emotional reactions from the comments posted on the Facebook page, news articles and blogs.

“We’ve all been there. This video just made me cry, reminding me of myself and my daughter,” a viewer commented on the Facebook page.

Cheil officials said the firm would continue to hold various events, including a family photo contest, to show the true meaning of family and its bond.

Cheil Industries is Samsung’s chemicals and materials manufacturer that merged with Samsung Everland in September last year. Samsung took over Cheil for 1.05 trillion won as part of the global conglomerate’s restructuring program and renamed it Cheil Industries.
