남자 아이돌그룹 엑소 (EXO)가 ‘2013 MTV 유럽 뮤직 어워드 (Europe Music Awards)’의 한국 대표로 선정되며 ‘대세’를 입증했다.
소속사 SM엔터테인먼트는 최근 진행 중인 ‘2013 MTV 유럽 뮤직 어워드’ 투표에서 ‘베스트 코리안 액트 (Best Korean Act)’로 선정됐다고 29일 밝혔다.
또한 엑소는 ‘월드 와이드 액트 (Worldwide Act)’ 후보 자리를 놓고 일본 대표 걸그룹 모모이로 클로버 제트 (Momoiro Clover Z )와 ‘한국/일본 월드 와이드 액트 (Korea-Japan Worldwide Act)’ 부문 투표에서 경쟁을 벌이고 있다.
투표는 ‘2013 MTV 유럽 뮤직 어워드’ 공식 사이트에서 할 수 있다.
한편, 1994년부터 진행 되어온 ‘MTV 유럽 뮤직 어워드’는 유럽에서 한 해 동안 가장 인기를 얻은 음악과 뮤직비디오를 선정하는 시상식이다. 매년 세계적으로 유명한 팝 스타들이 출연해 넓은 관심을 모았다. 올해 시상식은 11월 10일 네덜란드 암스테르담에서 열릴 예정이다. (차요림 인턴 기자)

EXO named ‘Best Korean Act’ by MTV Europe Music Awards By Cha Yo-rim
K-pop group EXO has been awarded Best Korean Act by the 2013 MTV Europe Music Awards, an annual awards event that recognizes the most popular songs and music videos by artists from all over the world.
Results for nominations are based on votes cast on the 2013 MTV Europe Music Awards website.
The 12-member boy band beat other K-pop groups such as B.A.P, Boyfriend, U-Kiss, and SISTAR for the award, and is now going head-to-head with Japanese girl group Momoiro Clover Z for a spot in the list of Worldwide Act nominees.
Fans will have until Thursday to vote for their favorite regional artists on the Korean and Japanese versions of the 2013 MTV Europe Music Awards website, and the final winner will be announced during the awards ceremony that will take place in Amsterdam’s Ziggo Dome on Nov. 10 in the Netherlands.
Boy band EXO debuted in 2012 with their first single “Mama,” and their first studio album “XOXO” has gained international success, bringing total album sales close to 1 million.
