The Chinese leader had a meeting with chairman Chung at the Hyundai Pavilion at the Expo 2012 Yeosu. The Chinese official visited the Expo site to celebrate the Chinese national day, 48 days after the exposition opened.
“As this year marks the 20th anniversary of the diplomatic relations between China and Korea, we expect Hyundai Motor Group to play a role as the strong linkage for the two nations to build an even more mutually constructive relationship,” Wang said. “The Chinese government will provide active support.”
Hyundai officials said that the vice premier evaluated that Korean enterprises including Hyundai Motor have successfully conducted business in China, further consolidating cooperative relations between the two countries.
In response, Chung told the vice premier that “our achievement in China for the past 10 years attributes to the Chinese government’s active support.” The chairman added that Hyundai will further strengthen the existing partnership with China to yield mutually positive results.
After the talk, the Hyundai motor chairman and the Vice Premier had a luncheon that was hosted by Kang Dong-suk, the head of the Expo organizing committee.
