An elderly woman recently discovered several pieces of her own jewelry in an auction catalogue six years after she lost them.

The Duchess of Argyll, 68, found three pieces of her jewelry in a catalogue for Scottish auction house Lyon and Turnbull after she lost them at Glasgow Airport in 2006.

“I’m absolutely amazed,” the Duchess said. “I thought that after six years I’d lost them forever.”

The items lost include a tiara, which was a Victorian family heirloom, a Cartier brooch, a pearl necklace, an emerald ring and pearl earrings. The ring and earrings are still missing.

According to a news report, the airport found the jewelry and sold it to a diamond merchant, months after they were lost.

The airport bought back the tiara, brooch and necklace at the auction and gave them back to the Duchess.

사라진 보석, 6년만에 돌아와

6년 전에 보석을 잃어버린 주인이 한 경매 카탈로그에서 그 보석을 다시 찾아 화제가 되고 있다.

68세의 아가일 백작 부인은 2006년 스코틀랜드 글래스고 공항에서 잃어버린 보석들 중 일부를 경매업체인 리온 앤 턴불의 카탈로그에서 발견했다.

백작 부인은 2006년 글래스고 공항에서 영국 빅토리아 가문이 소유했던 티아라를 비롯해 까르티에 브로치, 진주목걸이와 귀걸이 그리고 에메랄드 반지를 분실했다. 이 중 티아라와 브로치, 그리고 목걸이를 이번 경매에서 찾게 되었다.

뉴스 보도에 따르면, 공항 측은 백작부인이 보석을 분실 한 후 이들을 다시 찾아 한 보석 상인에게 팔았다고 한다.

공항 측은 이번에 발견 된 보석들에 대한 비용을 지불하고 이들을 백작 부인에게 다시 돌려줬다.
