LG-Ericsson said Tuesday that it named the current chief strategy officer Martin Wiktorin as the new chief executive of the joint venture between Korea’s LG Electronics and Sweden’s Ericsson.
The 47-year-old joined Ericsson in 1994 after receiving a master’s degree in electronics engineering at Lulea University in Sweden.
Martin Wiktorin
He led the radio systems division in Eastern Europe and served as vice president of system solutions in Ericsson China. He worked for nine years in China alone.
Since the establishment of LG-Ericsson in 2010, he has served as co-president and CSO at the company, which develops telecommunications equipment and network technology.
The appointment was made by Ericsson as its stakes at the company have recently extended from 50 percent to 75 percent. LG had previously named new CEOs.
