[THE INVESTOR] The Korea Semiconductor Industry Association said on July 11 that many global chipmakers, including from China and Europe, have confirmed their participation in its annual exhibition SEDEX in Seoul in October.

Some 200 companies will attend SEDEX 2016, to be held at COEX from Oct. 26-38, by setting up more than 500 exhibition booths.

The list of participants this year include SMIC, Huahong Grace and JCET from China and Infineon and ST Micro from Europe.

SMIC and Huahong Grace are among China’s largest foundry businesses. While JCET has been emerging as a leader in packaging sector after acquisition of Statschippac.

KISA noted that Infineon will showcase a wide range of automobile-related semiconductor solutions as one of the leading semiconductor suppliers in the automotive industry. ST Microelectronics in partnership with Texas Instruments will present Internet of Things-related solutions.

The Taiwanese packaging company ASE will be joining as a sponsor.

The association said that Korea’s top two chipmakers Samsung Electronics and SK hynix will also be sending teams to network with participating companies.
