Kang Ji-young, a former member of KARA, is in talks with a Japanese management agency about returning to the entertainment scene, local news outlets reported Tuesday.
“Kang Ji-young, who left Kara and went to London to study last April, will resume (her) activities,” an industry watcher told a Japanese weekly magazine.

According to the reports, Kang is mulling over signing a contract with Japanese talent agency Sweet Power, home to top actresses including Meisa Kuroki and Maki Horikita. South Korea’s top actress Kim Tae-hee also works with the agency for promotion in Japan.
The Japanese magazine also quoted the source as saying, “Kang Ji-young has dreamed of becoming an actress. The head of Sweet Power came all the way to London to meet her and consult about her future. Kang will make a comeback as an actress in Japan this year.”
Kang, along with fellow member Jung Nicole, was once a member of Kara, currently a three-member girl group. Kang left the group to study in London when her exclusive contract with DSP Media expired last April.
