Singer-songwriter's latest release centers on a strained friendship, with first arena shows scheduled for January
Singer-songwriter Hanroro released her new single "Question Mark" on Thursday.
The song deals with conflicting emotions in personal relationships, including affection, resentment and regret, continuing Hanroro's exploration of the difficulties and uncertainties of young adulthood.
Ahead of the release, Hanroro shared a synopsis on social media last month, outlining a story involving two childhood friends who meet at a swimming school and grow up sharing their dreams.
Their friendship deteriorates following a series of conflicts, and a chance reunion years later brings unresolved tensions to the surface. The narrative forms the basis of the song's accompanying music video, which depicts the changing relationship between the two characters.
The single addresses the difficulty of letting go of a relationship despite the hurt, with its central theme built around the desire to find an answer to conflicting feelings.
Hanroro is scheduled to hold her fifth solo concert, also titled "Question Mark," on Jan. 2 and 3, 2027, at Naver Arena at Inspire in Incheon.
The performances will be her first at an arena-sized venue, following earlier concerts at smaller live music venues in Seoul's Hongdae district and other concert halls.
The shows will address themes of uncertainty, understanding and empathy, similar to those in the new single.
