The Korea Water Resources Corporation (K-water) said Thursday that it will display its water management technologies at CES 2025, the world’s largest consumer electronics and IT trade show, scheduled to run through Friday in Las Vegas.
K-water, being its third consecutive year of participating at CES, stated that it will show the enterprise’s water management technologies that aims to target global water shortage problems at the K-water exhibition hall, along with 19 other South Korean startup companies specializing in water technology.
Along with the startup companies, K-water added that it hopes to show off the innovative capabilities of Korea’s water industries and demonstrate new technologies that can “lead the climate-tech sector.”
In particular, K-water will focus on strengthening the global sales numbers of Korea’s three major water management technologies -- including the water filtration plant run with artificial intelligence, the digital twin water management platform which monitors and simulates water management situations as well as its Smart Water Network Management, K-water’s water supply management technology that can take preemptive actions when accidents such as water leaks and abnormal water quality occur.
The enterprise also aims to support the 19 water technology startups’ entry into the global market, to further enhance Korea’s competitiveness in the water sector. According to K-water, 63 percent -- 12 out of the 19 companies -- are local enterprises coming from rural areas.
“To ensure local enterprises face no barriers to innovative growth, K-water not only helps them to take part in CES but also provides opportunities to conduct demonstrations, seek technical consulting as well as investment support to foster the growth of these startups,” said K-water through an official press release.
K-water added that three of the 19 participating startups -- including Inosep based in Gwangju, Fawoo Nanotech based in Bucheon as well as Fust Lab from Daejeon -- also achieved the feat of winning the CES Innovation Awards this year.
“The world is currently facing an unprecedented water risk, and the water-tech sector, seen as a key industry for the future, is forming a massive market to address these challenges,” said Division Director of K-water’s Green Infrastructure Management Division, Ahn Jung-ho. “Through CES, K-water aims to showcase Korea’s water industry innovations to a global audience, while also securing new growth engines for domestic water companies to seize new market opportunities.”
