Seoul is generally known as a high-tech city filled with tall buildings and high-rise apartments. But once a year, though not for long, the modern city transforms into a city of colors. 


This week seems to be the peak of the nation’s favorite season -- fall. 


From the top of Namsan to Jamsil in the southeastern part of the city, urban districts have turned into places to celebrate the harvest season. Streets are decked out in autumn leaves in mustard yellow, scarlet red and amber, filled with children joyfully jumping on beds of gingko leaves and couples in trench coats showered by the falling leaves.


Take a walk to the Seokchon Lake Park in the southeastern part of the city, and the Seoul Tower of the Namsan, this weekend before the arrival of winter puts an end to the fiesta.

The walking trails around Namsan beckon lovebirds, providing unforgettable memories of the autumn. 


For families with toddlers and young kids, public parks like the one near the Sangam World Cup Stadium in northwestern Seoul, offer the chance for one last autumn picnic before it gets too cold.
