Man steals money from church where he gets free meals

Jeonju-Deokjin Police Station said Monday that a 51-year-old man surnamed Kim was arrested for stealing money from a church.

The suspect is accused of breaking into a church office and stealing 15 million won ($13,200) on Sept. 4.

Kim, who was released from prison in July for other crimes and had nowhere to go, would eat free meals at the church.

Kim said that he planned to rob the very shelter that was feeding him after seeing many people donate their money to the church on Sundays.
