Lee made his directorial debut in 2014 with the historical drama “The Fatal Encounter,” based on the assassination attempt on King Jeongjo and starring Hyun Bin. He also directed hit television drama series such as 2008’s “Beethoven Virus” and 2012’s “The King 2 Hearts.”
“Perfect Strangers” (Medusa Film)
The original “Perfect Strangers” is a dramedy about seven longtime friends who throw a dinner party and decide to play a risky game: They reveal all their texts and call histories to each other, to demonstrate they have nothing to hide. What ensues is much drama and comedy as the friends discover that they are, in fact, strangers to one another.
Director Lee Jae-gyu (Monster Film)
The filming of the remake is set to begin later this year, reports said.
“Perfect Strangers” won the Academy of Italian Cinema’s David di Donatello Award in 2016.
