Oct. 9, 2013 - 17:31 By Korea Herald
“Good Doctor,” a South Korean drama featuring an autistic doctor, wrapped up its heartwarming story of triumph over adversity with viewer ratings of 19.2 percent for its final episode on Tuesday.

“Thank you for compensating for what I could not do,” said Sion, the autistic doctor, to his colleagues in the last episode on gaining recognition as a professional pediatrician.

The drama evoked hope in its portrayal of the struggling autistic doctor starred by Joo Won. The character communicated closely with patients despite his frequent stammering and cowering demeanor.

The drama also pulled off a successful romance involving a man with a disability.

The show’s time slot will be filled with “Future Choice,” a time-traveling rom-com, which will kick off on Monday, starring actors Yoon Eun-hye and Jung Yong-hwa.
