DAEGU (AP) -- Yuliya Zaripova of Russia won the women's steeplechase at the world championships on Tuesday, finishing the 3,000-meter race in 9 minutes, 7.03 seconds.

Habiba Ghribi of Tunisia was second for silver in 9:11.97 and African champion Milcah Cheywa of Kenya took bronze in 9:17.16.
