JungKwanJang, South Korea’s leading red ginseng brand under Korea Ginseng Corp., said Monday that it has opened its first drugstore, Jung Mall Euljiro Store, in central Seoul.

The new store sells not only JungKwanJang's own products, but more than 90 different products from other companies as well, the company said.

JungKwanJang's physical stores previously dealt in only the company's own ginseng extract products.

The products available at the Jung Mall Euljiro Store include a variety of health functional foods and nutritional supplements -- ranging from probiotics, vitamins and omega-3 fatty acids to protein bars and dried fruit chips -- from other companies, including Korea Eundan, Selex, CJ Wellcare and Comvita, as well as JungKwanJang’s flagship ginseng products.

JungKwanJang said it plans to expand the number of drugstores to 10 within the year and diversify the store’s product lineups to offer customers a greater choice of goods and services.

“We opened the new drugstore in line with the recent trend that the boundaries between online and offline outlets are disappearing and that customers seek more diverse health functional foods in the market,” an official from Korea Ginseng Corp. said.

“The Jung Mall Euljiro Store will provide such a differentiated shopping experience based on the company’s strict quality management system and health care know-how.”
