Songzio, the South Korean fashion house known for its avant-garde men’s wear, will open a flagship store in Paris in June and unveil its first womenswear collection, also in June, for the spring-summer 2025 season, according to an agency representing the company.
The move means a “real start of globalizing the brand,” said Song Zio, the founding designer of Songzio International, in a statement, calling Paris the center of the fashion world and Seoul the center of a new culture. A Seoul flagship store is scheduled to open in March.
Established in 1993, the label is one of the leading Korean fashion houses in terms of international recognition.
Songzio’s Paris venture follows the opening of a second Paris flagship store by another Korean brand, Wooyoungmi, in September. Designer Woo Young-mi launched the brand in 2002 in Paris, where she opened a flagship store in 2006 -- the first for a Korean fashion house.
Songzio is also pushing for another flagship store as early as 2025 in New York. Jay Song, Song’s son, runs the label as its CEO and artistic director, with his father as the chairman.
The lineup has four sub-brands: Avant-garde collection Songzio, high-end menswear Songzio Homme, contemporary ready-to-wear Ziosongzio and youth-centric Zzero Songzio.
