The solo song from the band’s “Love Yourself: Answer” ranked No. 1 on the chart this week, Billboard announced. This is the septet’s 30th No. 1 on the chart in total and sixth in 2021, following “Stay,” “Inner Child,” “Film Out,” “Singularity,” and “Stigma.”

Enhyphen captivates Japan with debut single

Enhyphen is enjoying success in Japan, setting records with its debut single that sold over 200,000 copies in the first week of release, according to Universal Music Japan Tuesday.

This makes the single “Border: Hakanai” the second-most sold single by an international artist ever, only outdone by Seventeen’s Japan debut single “Happy Ending” from 2019.

The single also landed atop Oricon’s daily chart upon release on July 6 and stayed there for seven days straight, subsequently hitting No. 1 on the weekly single chart. The band is the first musician to have a debut single on the weekly tally this year.

The rookie band has been sweeping Oricon charts with its Korean albums since its debut in November last year. Its first album “Border: Day One” was No. 1 on the daily chart and No. 2 on the weekly album chart. Its second EP “Border: Carnival” topped the weekly album chart.
