A Seoul court will hold a hearing this week to decide whether to issue an arrest warrant sought by prosecutors for a lawmaker accused of corruption, court officials said Monday.
The court action on Rep. Kweon Seong-dong of the main opposition Liberty Korea Party came 46 days after the prosecution applied for the arrest warrant. The closure of a parliamentary session last month enabled the court to start the legal process as lawmakers are given parliamentary immunity while the National Assembly is in session.
