[Weather] Daytime high to reach 35 C

Temperatures on Monday are expected to rise to 35 degrees Celsius in Korea, recording the hottest day this year. People are advised to drink plenty of water to stay hydrated and take breaks in the shade while outside.

The Korea Meteorological Administration has issued heat wave warnings in North Gyeongsang Province areas including Daegu, Gyeongsan and Gyeongju, while heat wave advisories were in effect in most regions across the country as of 10 a.m.

The scorching weather, however, is expected to cool down at night as the rainy season is set to start from Tuesday. Jeju Island is forecast to receive 5 millimeters of rain at night and the rainfall will expand nationwide gradually. More than 120 mm of rain will fall in Seoul, while most parts of the country will get 10 to 80 mm of rain on Tuesday.
