Police said Friday that they booked a man without detention for secretly taking pictures of women at a library in Korea University in Seongbuk-gu, northern Seoul.
According to police, a man in his 30s, only identified by his surname Kim, was arrested at the scene around 8:30 p.m. Thursday, upon a victim’s police report.
Kim’s smartphone contained more than 10 photos of women taken Thursday.

Police have confiscated the smartphone and requested a digital forensic procedure to be carried out. They plan to look into whether Kim had taken more photos secretly and whether he had uploaded any online.
There had been speculation that hidden cameras might have been installed in the library, but police did not find any.
Kim is reportedly a Korea University graduate who is unemployed.
