Fire breaks out on Panama-registered car carrier

May 21, 2018 - 15:08 By Yonhap
INCHEON --A Panama-registered car carrier caught fire while anchored at the South Korean port of Incheon on Monday, but all of its crewmen safely evacuated, port officials here said Monday.

The fire took place at around 9:40 a.m. on the 52,422-ton ship carrying some 2,000 used cars bound for Libya, the officials said.

The overheated engine of one of the cars is presumed to be the cause of the fire, the officials said, adding that firefighters are still struggling to put out the fire.
