A total of 56,084 vehicles by companies including Mercedes-Benz, BMW and Toyota will be recalled to fix defective parts, officials at the Transport Ministry said Tuesday.
Mercedes-Benz Korea, local importer and distributor of the German luxury car, has recalled 323 vehicles including GLC 22d compact SUVs sold here between 2016 and 2017. They will be subject for the replacement of front and rear window as the parts are loosely attached, the ministry said.

Four Volkswagen models including Tiguan compact SUVs and three CC 2.0 variants, or 18,262 units in total will be recalled for defects found in the vehicle safety control system.
Some 130 BMW X5 xDrive 30d SUVs have violated the safety procedure for not installing fire extinguishers, the ministry said. Such procedure is mandatory for vehicles with over seven seats.
Toyota Motor Korea will be recalling 4,482 vehicles, including 3,251 Sienna minivans that lacked motor fuse capacity for automated sliding doors. Seven models including ES350 by the Japanese carmaker’s luxury brand Lexus was found to have faulty airbags.
Volvo Korea will recall 1,891 V40 hatchbacks produced between 2012 and 2015 for defects found in rubber cap that locks its fuel inlet.
Kia Motors, a South Korean carmaker will recall 30,982 Bongo 3 pick-up trucks and Carnival diesel SUVs for weak brake vacuum hoses.
