Incheon Airport has been named the best airport in the world for the 12th consecutive year by an international airport council, the airport announced Thursday.
It is the first airport to win for best airport worldwide at the Airport Service Quality Awards hosted by Airports Council International for 12 straight years. The annual awards are based on interviews with airport visitors who rank the services of each airport.

Incheon received a score of 4.99 of a maximum 5 from airport visitors.
In addition to best airport worldwide, Incheon Airport was also named the best airport in the Asia-Pacific region and best large airport serving over 40 million people annually.
Incheon Airport was given a special recognition award from ASQ to acknowledge the airport’s contributions to improving airport quality around the world.
Incheon Airport said it will no longer participate in the rankings starting next year, instead focusing its efforts on future services such as those at the upcoming second passenger terminal.
“We will not become complacent, but use the opening of our second terminal early next year as a new start,” said Incheon International Airport Corp. CEO Chung Il-young.
