Hip-hop artist Zion.T made a splash on the local charts with his new album “00” on Wednesday, notching up top spots in major online music charts.

“The Song” by Zion.T debuted at No. 1 in eight music charts including Mnet, Genie and Melon after its midnight release and held on to its throne as of Wednesday afternoon. On its heels at the No. 2 spot was “Complex” from the same album, featuring G-Dragon of Big Bang.

On working with the K-pop icon, Zion.T said in a recent interview that G-Dragon’s contribution helped the song “sound cool.”

“There were parts (in the lyrics) that sounded extreme, but I wanted it to be cool. Ji-yong (G-Dragon) handled it well,” he said.

Zion.T also said that the album’s title “00” represents the common denominator between him and other people, which is music.
