Nine people, including actor Yoo Ah-in, actress Jun Ji-hyun and director Ryoo Seung-wan, have been voted by local teenagers as the most popular film industry figures in South Korea.

The Korea Youth Film Festival announced on Monday winners in nine categories of awards for film people who shined the most over the past year. The winners were chosen in an annual poll jointly carried out by Cast Me, an online human resources platform for films, as a unit event for the festival.

Yoo and Jun, who respectively starred in "Veteran" and "Assassination," won in the best actor and actress categories, while Ryoo, who wrote and directed "Veteran," was chosen to be the most popular filmmaker.

For the most popular senior actors, Kim Hye-ja of "Her Secret Day" and Baek Yoon-sik of "Inside Men" were named, while Lee Dong-hwi, the star of the popular TV series "Reply 1988," and Kim Go-eun of "The Advocate: A missing body" each won spots for rookie actors.

As for child actors, Kim Hwan-hee of "The Wailing" and Jung Youn-seok of "Tazza-The Hidden Card" are to be awarded.

The winners will be awarded during the closing ceremony of the five-day festival at Hannam University in Daejeon, about 160 kilometers south of Seoul, on Nov. 19. (Yonhap)
