[DISCLOSURE] Asia Pacific Satellite Communications (211270), a producer of communications equipment, reported on Sept. 6 that it has obtained a patent for satellite communications system and technology for assisting mobile devices using local area networks. 

This technology uses satellites when there is an error in the ground network or communications error on mobile devices.
