Martin Smith, one of the top five contestant groups from the last season of Mnet’s popular music competition show “Superstar K,” has been signed by V Entertainment, according to the management agency Monday.
“Martin Smith will be kicking off official promotional activities under the company’s management,” said V Entertainment. “The group will be unveiling its new, diverse content on both broadcast and online outlets,” it added.
Founded in 2012 by Korean rock band Schizo’s lead guitarist Joo Sung-min, V Entertainment primarily represents indie music groups such as Reflex, BeatBurger and Romantisco.

Prior to the band’s appearance on the seventh season of “Superstar K,” the duo Martin Smith -- consisting of Jeon Tae-won and Jung Hyuk -- had a humble beginning, performing street gigs around Seoul’s Hongdae district.
Meanwhile, Martin Smith is currently gearing up for its upcoming concert “2016 Xindie Week Vol.2 - The Bridge” with indie groups The Koxx and Joa Band at the HanaTour V-Hall in Hongdae on Oct. 5.
