Aug. 15, 2016 - 18:06 By 이우영
An international cultural forum will bring together the world’s creative opinion leaders to experience Korean culture and discuss cultural strengths in September.

The Culture Communication Forum, organized by the Corea Image Communications Institute, will be held from Sept. 4-6 in Seoul. It will invite 18 cultural figures from around the world, including Russian publisher Irina Prokhorova of “New Literary Observer,” New Zealand musician Tama Waipara, Spanish writer and anthropologist Javier Moro, barista Paul Bassett and French-Korean chef Pierre Sang Boyer who recently featured in a popular Korean cooking competition TV program.

The three-day event will guide participants through many aspects of Korean culture. They will visit royal palaces, museums, restaurants and major tourist sites, including Changdeokgung Palace, the National Museum of Korea, the National Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art, the Korea Furniture Museum and N Seoul Tower from Sept. 4-5.

The participants will then discuss the roles of culture and share the cultural strengths of their countries under the theme “Where Does the Power of Cultural Communication Come From?” at the CCF forum on Sept. 6. During the discussion, the participants will also reveal their impressions of Korean culture and discuss ways for Korea to globalize its culture.

The CCF has invited influential cultural figures from around the world since 2010, including Vittorio Missoni, the CEO of Missoni, French scholar Guy Sorman, Catherine Chevillot, the director of the Musee Rodin and American wine critic James Suckling.

The CICI strives to promote Korea and its culture on an international scale. The institution organizes a number of events with distinguished international guests and annually honors people, events and even landmarks that are considered to have contributed to a positive national image.
