Aug. 15, 2016 - 16:10 By Korea Herald
Hyundai Card, a Korean credit card company which recently opened a cultural venue in Seoul’s district of Itaewon, said Monday that it has expanded its cultural complex while intensifying efforts for coexistence with small music stores in the neighborhood.

The enlarged cultural complex consists of the Music Library and Understage that opened in May last year, and next door stands the latest two-story record shop Vinyl and Plastic that opened in June this year.

Music Library and Understage is a space for musicians to record, practice and perform. It also provides 10,000 vinyl records and 3,000 music-related books to visitors, the company said.

Vinyl and Plastic offers an opportunity for anyone to listen, watch and own music, it said, adding that the complex manages 4,000 vinyl records and 8,000 CDs for sale, and that it hosts various visual arts exhibitions.

The affiliate of carmaker Hyundai Motors recently announced its plan for coexistence with small music-related businesses by producing promotional leaflets for small record retail stores and distributing maps of record stores spread throughout Korea.
