Nexon GT sees Q2 operating profit drop 50%

Aug. 10, 2016 - 16:33 By 김영원
[THE INVESTOR] Mobile game developer Nexon GT’s operating profit more than halved in the April-June period, compared with the same period last year, according to the firm on Aug. 10.

The company, a subsidiary of Tokyo-headquartered game developer Nexon, logged 2.2 billion won ($2 million) in operating income in the second quarter, down from 4.5 billion won the firm posted a year earlier.

Its revenue came in at 13.4 billion won down in the second quarter from 14.1 billion won in the same period last year.

Although sales of the firm’s online games including “Sudden Attack” and “Special Soldier” showed solid growth, costs including those spent on acquiring WellGames in May are said to have weighed on its profits.
