Samsung, CJ top picks for Korean jobseekers

[THE INVESTOR] Samsung Electronics and CJ Cheiljedang are the two most sought-after local companies among South Korean college students, a market survey showed on July 29.

The annual survey of 1,003 college students by job search portal JobKorea said 15.3 percent of the 476 surveyed men selected Samsung Electronics as the most desired company to work at among the 100 largest local firms by revenue.

It marked the second straight year that the world’s largest maker of smartphones and semiconductors claimed the top spot, according to JobKorea

The Korea Electric Power Corp. was the second-most popular among male college students with 14.9 percent. The utility company was followed by KT, South Korea’s largest fixed-line and broadband operator, with 10.1 percent.
