July 22, 2016 - 13:21 By Korea Herald
[THE INVESTOR] Hanwha Engineering & Construction announced on July 22 that it has received a 299.8 billion won (US$263.68 million) construction order for part of the Seoul-Sejong expressway.

It has won a turnkey project -- that lets contractor do the whole process from design and to implementation -- to build the road between Anseong and Guri.

The expressway construction is part of a large-scale government scheme to complete five axis that run across the metropolitan area from north and south. Running from Guri, Gyeonggi Province, to Sejong, the whole length would be 129 kilometers and the total cost will amount to 6.7 trillion won.

Hanwha will connect Gwanju and Seongnam in Gyeonggi Province covering 4.246 kilometers over the next five years.

Hanwha had receiving an order to build the highway between Bongdam and Songsan earlier this year, and “has secured its position in the expressway building industry,” said Jeong In-cheol, head of civil engineering and environmental division at Hanwha E&C.
