Song covered his head with a yellow plastic bag, jumped over a wall, picked a lock and removed a safe from the restaurant.

He accidentally dropped the safe while running, upon which it broke. It contained a mere 7,000 won.

Song was tracked down and arrested based on fingerprints he left on the safe.

The police said Song has been arrested five other times for various misdemeanors.

After serving a jail term, Song had taken up part-time jobs to make ends meet. He resorted to theft again after facing financial difficulties.
