Actor, songwriter and lead singer of K-pop rock band CNBLUE Jung Yong-hwa, is the new face of the Chinese public campaign “Power to Go,” the artist’s agency FNC Entertainment announced Wednesday.
The campaign, which was started by Chinese actor-singer Chen Kun in 2010, includes charity concerts and donations, as well as a silent parade with celebrities.

It is the first time a non-Chinese star has become a model for a Chinese public campaign. Jung was considered popular enough to endorse the campaign, according to the press release issued by the agency.
Jung topped the Gaon Weibo Chart, hosted by the Chinese Social Network Service Weibo, for 68 weeks straight starting in November 2014. Elle China also featured Jung on the cover of its March edition, making him the first Korean male star to be featured.
