May 30, 2016 - 13:18 By 임정요
A workshop to transfer South Korea's fashion know-how to Indonesia will be held in the Southeast Asian nation this week, one of the event's co-organizers said Monday.

The Seoul-based ASEAN-Korea Center said it will co-host the event with Indonesia's trade ministry. The ASEAN-Korea Center was launched by South Korea and the 10-member Association of Southeast Asian Nations) in March 2009 to promote trade, investment, tourism and cultural exchanges between them.

A group of South Korean fashion experts will deliver lectures on South Korea's fashion trends, textile and leather market situation, and online marketing strategies at the event that will open in Indonesia's second-largest city of Surabaya on Tuesday and Jakarta on Thursday, the center said.

The group will also provide consulting services and one-on-one meetings to local businessmen in Indonesia's fashion industry.

"Indonesia has mapped out a plan to intensively nurture its fashion industry of late, and is actively trying to learn about K-fashion know-how," said Kim Young-sun, the center's secretary general. (Yonhap)
