The Korean unit of General Motors will host a premiere night to draw more attention to its new car lineup for the Busan Motor Show on June 1, one day before the official media preview.
The carmaker has remained low-key on which cars will take the stage at the premiere event “GM night,” but industry watchers predict GM Korea CEO James Kim will highlight three models from its Chevrolet and Cadillac brands.

For the mass market, GM is forecast to unveil the 2017 Chevrolet Volt hybrid electric car and Chevrolet Camaro sports car. The company plans to roll out the two models in Korea in the near future as part of efforts to strengthen its product lineup.
The gasoline-hybrid powertrain of the second generation Volt is expected to attract much media attention, armed with its 321 kilometer-long driving range, the company spokesperson said.

Another eye-catching car under the Chevrolet emblem at the event will be the six-generation of the Camaro sports car, which has been in competition with Ford Mustang.
For the high-end market, GM will also unveil Cadillac’s new CT6 full-size luxury sedan at the premiere dinner. With its American premium sedan, the automaker will challenge the German car-dominant luxury car market here. Luxury car lovers here have anticipated the arrival of Cadillac’s new CT6, as it has a lower price tag than those of German rivals like Mercedes-Benz S-Class and BMW 7 Series in the U.S. market.
