KB Kookmin Bank is organizing a job fair in the southern port city of Busan as part of its efforts to give back to society in an era of record-high youth unemployment rate.

The two-day fair opened at BEXCO on Wednesday with job opportunities at over 200 companies recommended by various respected groups, including Korea Industrial Technology Association and Korean Commission for Corporate Partnership. 

 
“We hope that this event provides young job seekers with their hoped-for jobs and employers the opportunities to recruit talent who will drive their future growth,” said Yoon Jong-kyoo, chairman of KB Financial Group, the parent of KB Kookmin.

The Busan event is the 11th job fair that the group is organizing since 2011 to link employers with new workforce. On top of jobs matchmaking, the fair also provides young job hunters with various support programs, such as career consulting and vocational training.

Prior to the opening of the job fair Wednesday, KB Kookmin and Korean Commission for Corporate Partnership signed an agreement to join hands to help SMEs to grow and create more jobs for the youth, the bank said.
