Korean Air, Jin Air to share six more routes

March 28, 2016 - 15:07 By Won Ho-jung
Korean Air and its budget carrier affiliate Jin Air will have six more codesharing routes to offer passenger convenience, Korean Air said Monday.

Starting Monday, Korean Air will codeshare with Jin Air on flights from Incheon to Clark in the Philippines, Hanoi in Vietnam, Honolulu in Hawaii and Taipei, as well as flights from Busan to Cebu in the Philippines and Da Nang in Vietnam.

The two air carriers will share ticket sales on the same route through a codeshare agreement. On codeshared flights, flyers will be able to book seats through either Korean Air or Jin Air.

The expanded agreement will offer Korean Air a chance to serve more destinations and enter new markets. Jin Air will be able to reach more potential flyers, Korean Air said.

The six new codeshare routes come in addition to five codesharing agreements between the two airlines for flights to Okinawa, Macau, Kota Kinabalu, Vientiane, and Guam. Jin Air and Korean Air have held codeshare agreements since March 2015.

In addition to Jin Air, Korean Air also holds codesharing agreements with 35 airlines on 403 routes.
