Gwangju International Center offers spring tour to Gurye

The Gwangju International Center will be hosting a tour around Gurye, a small farming town in South Jeolla Province.

The tour, which will take place on Mar. 26, will allow visitors to witness the blooming sansuyu flowers, a popular feature of the area in springtime.

The tour will take guests to Haweomsa Temple, which has been there since the sixth century and houses several national treasures. Participants will also be given the opportunity to meditate with monks, make bead bracelets and try a meal at the temple.

Other features of the tour include a visit to a noble family home, Unjoru, where guests can dress up in traditional clothes and try their hand at archery.

The tour will conclude with a walk through a rural village that is famous for its sansuyu.

Tickets include travel insurance, lunch, transportation and entrance fees.

Registrations can be made online at www.gic.or.kr, or at the GIC office by March 20.
