An art gallery in Washington plans to hold a "Korea Day" event in May to offer visitors an opportunity to explore the richness of Korean culture through hands-on activities, games and learning experiences, a gallery official said.

The Freer Sackler Gallery, which is part of the Smithsonian, will hold the event on May 7, said Katie Ziglar, external affairs director of the gallery, during a press briefing. It will be the gallery's second annual Korea Day event, she said.

The event will offer activities, including a Trunk Art show with Korean fork painter Oh Min-sun and craftsman Chon Hae-jung, book signing of the popular Korean cookbook, "Temple Foods," by author Lee Jung, and an interactive demonstration of taekwondo, she said. (Yonhap)
