Banyan Tree introduces ‘Taste Odyssey’ dining

Banyan Tree Club & Spa Seoul’s Club Member’s Restaurant is presenting “Taste Odyssey V” from Feb. 26-27.

Taste Odyssey is held once a month and this month’s featured ingredient is fresh Byeolgyo cockles.

This uniquely Korean dining event will use chamkkomak and pikkomak varieties of these little clams, delivered directly from Yeojaman, the area famous for cockles, located in the Byeolgyo coastal area.

Chamkkomak is famous as one of the dishes served to ancient Korean kings. Pikkomak is red and as large as the size of a man’s hand, and regarded as the most delicious of all the cockles.

W Seoul’s Namu launches new bento

W Seoul-Walkerhill Gwangjin-gu, Seoul and Namu, its Japanese restaurant, are launching a 2016 renewal version of the signature lunch menu “Wento” (W style bento box) with a fresh spin to the classic flavors.

Whereas the original version comes in the form of a Shokado-style, rectangular bento box, the newly upgraded Wento embraces the bento style from the eastern provinces of Japan.

The bento consists of three layers, each serving seasonal flavors and aesthetics that bring about pleasant culinary experience. The first layer uses seasonal sashimi; the second layer includes appetizers such as walnut tofu and tangerine; and the third layer consists of items such as bass stew made with fresh bass and grilled Sancho beef tenderloin.

Lobster tail pasta at Imperial Palace Boutique 

Imperial Palace Boutique Hotel’s Itaewon Cafe Amiga is offering lobster tail pasta as the main dish for lunch buffet.

The pasta is soft but spicy, flavored with rosé sauce and is to be prepared in limited servings of 20 each day.

Café Amiga boasts flavorful buffet menu of over 40 different types of cuisine, including Mediterranean clam stew, Singapore chicken, Greek salad, and grilled fish with citrus.

The Grand Hilton Seoul is presenting the “For Mom” package with two options for mothers.

It includes a special massage program at La Clinique de Paris spa in the hotel.

The “For Mom I” option includes a one-night stay in a deluxe room, breakfast for two at the Buffet Restaurant, plus free use of the gym, swimming pool and sauna.
