Presidential office reviews tasks amid security threats

Feb. 18, 2016 - 13:24 By KH디지털2
Cheong Wa Dae said Thursday it is reviewing 16 government-wide tasks to better cope with persistent threats posed by North Korea's nuclear and missile programs.

The tasks are a follow-up measure to President Park Geun-hye's order during a Cabinet meeting Tuesday when she asked officials to establish a readiness posture amid security threats.

The detailed tasks will be elaborated further during a vice minister-level official meeting later in the day, officials at the presidential office said.

The tasks will then be finalized at a Cabinet meeting presided over by Prime Minister Hwang Kyo-ahn next week, they added.

The tasks are categorized into five subjects that include the establishment of solid national security, support measures for firms at the inter-Korean joint factory park in North Korea and strong sanctions against Pyongyang with the cooperation of the international community. (Yonhap)
