Hong, who used to be a professional weight lifter, will be providing his expertise in three areas -- educate Sentinel’s crossfit and boot camp coaches; develop and implement new training programs; and offer regular health seminars to members.

“My goal is to improve its fitness programs by providing scientific and systematic training know-how and content to Sentinel members,” Hong said in a statement.

“I hope my contribution to Sentinel will become a model that can boost the country’s fitness and health industry.”

Hong got his doctorate from Oregon State University after working as a physical trainer for the Mobis Phoebus basketball team from 1996-1999. He specializes in devising programs to prevent musculoskeletal disorders and accidents during workouts, as well as creating health content for fitness coaches.
