EXO's Chinese member Lay was injured in China during the filming of a local drama and will be out of action for the time being, his management company said Monday.

S.M. Entertainment said Lay was hurt while shooting the drama titled "Old Nine Gates" in China last Saturday, without specifying how or where he sustained his injury. The company said Lay was treated at a local hospital and remains in stable condition.

An S.M. official said Lay's injury is not serious but doctors have recommended rest.

Chinese media have reported that Lay hurt his back in an motorcycle accident in Hengdian. (Yonhap)
