Seoul seeks student volunteers

Jan. 20, 2016 - 19:35 By Korea Herald
Seoul Metropolitan Government is seeking student volunteers to help out with the city’s community projects.

The volunteers will participate in group volunteer events, give online classes on foreign languages and culture to children living in island areas, and help with translation, cleaning and other services at Gwanghwamun Plaza Flea Market.

Those who teach children from island areas at least twice a week over 10 months will be eligible for a scholarship of up to 2.5 million won from KT.

Volunteers should be foreign undergraduate or graduate students enrolled at universities in Seoul for the whole year. Those graduating in August are not eligible for the program.

To apply, fill out the application forms available from global.seoul.go.kr with your certification of enrollment and TOPIK score and send them to global_intern@seoul.go.kr by Jan. 30.

Those who pass the first round will be interviewed on Feb. 16, with orientation on Feb. 19. The internship formally ends Dec. 23.
