Suseo bullet trains to start operation in August

Jan. 13, 2016 - 12:50 By Korea Herald
New high-speed trains will start to carry passengers departing from Suseo Station in southern Seoul from August, the Transport Ministry said Wednesday.
The new bullet train service was to open late last year but was delayed due to additional work on consolidating weak grounds as well as a construction company under a court receivership.
The trains will depart from Suseo Station on the new high-speed train line built to connect the southern residential district with Busan, via Pyeongtaek in Gyeonggi Province. From Pyeongtaek, the new Suseo line will be running south with the existing Gyeongbu line to Busan, along with KTX bullet trains.
Currently, the KTX high-speed trains depart from Seoul or Yongsan Stations, both in the northern part of the capital city, causing inconveniences for those living in southern Seoul or other metropolitan areas.
