South Korea's trade minister met Friday with members of the European Chamber of Commerce in Korea to exchange views on how best to improve business investment conditions in the country.
At the breakfast meeting in Seoul, outlined to European businessmen measures taken by the government to ease restrictions and reform outdated rules that will make it easier for foreign companies to invest in Asia's fourth-largest economy.
He stressed that such efforts are ongoing so that overall conditions will get better down the line.
Yoon also took time to listen to some of the difficulties encountered by ECCK member companies as they conduct business and seek investment opportunities.
"The government is committed to listening to what foreign businesses have to say, and will work to iron out obstacles to trade and investment in a rational manner," the minister claimed.
He said changes will be made through close cooperation with related ministries and agencies.
In response, European company executives expressed thanks for changes made so far and asked for a continued push to improve business conditions in the country.
ECCK President Jean-Christophe Darbes attended the meeting, along with 24 heads of businesses, such as BMW Korea, Bayer Korea, Ikea Korea and Solvay Korea. (Yonhap)
