朴대통령 자서전, 중국서 '베스트셀러 1위'…'80만부'

2013년 5월 중국에서 출간된 박근혜 대통령의 자서전 '절망은 나를 단련시키고, 희망은 나를 움직인다'(絶望鍛鍊了我)가 베스트셀러 1위(전기분야)를 차지했다.

25일 중국 최대 온라인 서점인 당당왕(當當網)의 베스트셀러 집계 결과에 따르면, 상하이이린(上海譯林) 출판사가 번역한 이 책은 지난 9∼10월 두 달 연속 전체 전기서적 판매에서 1위(종합분야 30위)를 기록했다.

'푸틴전:그는 러시아를 위해 산다'(신세계출판사)는 3위에 올라 있다.

관영 환구시보 영자지인 글로벌타임스 역시 전날 '10월 베스트셀러' 관련 보도에서 출판물 조사기관인 '오픈북'을 인용, 박 대통령 전기가 '논픽션 분야 톱10'에 포함됐다고 전했다.

지난해 전기서적 분야에서 종합 2위(당당왕 집계)를 기록한 박 대통령 자서전은 지난 4∼5월 4위, 7월 6위, 8월 4위를 기록하는 등 올해 들어서도 꾸준히 베스트셀러 자리를 지켜오고 있다.

누적 판매량은 지난 3월 기준으로 60만 권을 돌파한 것으로 알려졌다.

출판사 측은 이 책의 판매량이 최근 80만 권을 넘어선 것으로 추산된다면서도 정확한 수치는 내년 1월에 나올 예정이라고 밝혔다.

일부 독자들은 박 대통령의 평범하지 않은 인생 역정 등을 거론하며 "강인한 여성 정치가" 등의 평가 등을 남겨놨다.

중국의 정치평론가인 하오훠쥐(赫火炬)와 정원양(鄭文陽)이 지난해 1월 공동 출간한 '박근혜전:절망 속에서 희망을 찾다'(신세계출판사) 역시 현재 당당왕 전체 전기서적 분야에서 7위에 올라 있다.

박 대통령은 중국어를 할 줄 아는 데다 중국을 방문해 연설할 때마다 중국의 역사, 고사성어 등을 인용해 많은 중국인으로부터 환영을 받았다. (연합)

Park's memoir tops best-seller chart in China's online bookstore

A Chinese-language memoir by President Park Geun-hye was at the top of the autobiography list compiled by China's largest online bookstore for September and October, according to the store on Wednesday.

The autobiography, titled "Despair Trains Me and Hope Moves Me," was first published in 2007 and translated into Chinese in 2013.

The data compiled by the Chinese online bookstore, dangdang.com, showed that Park's memoir topped the list of sales on the biographies chart for the past two months.

Citing data by a publishing industry research institute Openbook, the state-run Global Times newspaper, which is published by the Chinese Communist Party, also reported on Tuesday that Park's memoir was among the top 10 non-fiction books in October.

The memoir has gained steady popularity in China. The book's Chinese publisher said about 800,000 copies were estimated to have been sold so far, but an exact sales figure will be released in January.

Known for her self-taught Mandarin and interest in Chinese culture, Park has used her diplomatic resources to bolster ties with China with the aim of helping address North Korea's nuclear standoff. (Yonhap)
